I never did get it to work , countless calls and emails to Purple air customer service with no help. I Coud never actually talk to anyone, no one ever called me back. I am very computer literate, it is unnecessarily over complicated. It would not recognize my email and the serial # of the unit, the same two that were on my invoice. They sent me 2 units, the second one, a Flex model, came with no invoice for free. I could have kept the second one but I was so disgusted with this company, I sent it back also on my shipping dime, I didnt want it.

Hi Bruce,

We're sorry you've had a poor experience. We tried to call you back, but couldn't get through. We've since refunded your order at your request.

PurpleAir is Making the World Better

Great contribution to data to support action. Wonderful. My son and I live very near a burn area. We are trying to convince our neighbors to join your community.

Good measurement, bad connector and app

The device measures AQ well, at least it tracks outside events and inside happenings (cooking). The power connector is extremely fragile. I can see it rocking. It’s soldered directly to the board with no strain relief. It will fail the first time my housekeeper picks it up to dust. The ‘app’ is just a webpage with apparently no way to keep the settings, so it goes to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean everytime the saved bookmark is opened. So you pretty much have to make your inside monitor public, which understandably bothers both me, because privacy, and others, because why do they want to know what my AQ is.

Hi Brent,

Thank you for your review. We do want to say that you shouldn't have to register your indoor sensor publicly. When you register a device, you should recieve a registration confirmation email that contains a link to view that sensor on the map, whether public or private.

Additionally, the coordinates of your map view are saved in the URL, so you can just save a different bookmark that takes you directly to a view of your sensors. If you need any help, you're more than welcome to send an email to contact@purpleair.com.
