Unit completely rusted out, no warranty coverage

So I have purchased 3 of the PA-II models. One of them completely rusted / corroded out and stopped working. No warranty coverage. Had to just toss it and abandon the site. 35% failure rate is pitiful. Really disappointed with the quality of these units.

Hello,

We apologize that you've been experiencing this amount of trouble. If you would like, we're happy to assist in any way we can or talk about warrarnty coverage in an email to contact@purpleair.com.

Indoor air quality

Our indoor sensor has been indispensable during fire season.

As of now, they're still in the boxes sent to us, and have not been distributed yet. But we've ordered dozens of them before and like them better than the "Touch." We just wish they would detect something besides PMs (reliably). Thanks.

Solid unit

The sensor is good quality. The setup was relatively painless, but I had to try to register 4 times before it worked on the website. I was happy to see how easy it was to pull the data into Home Assistant. Would love to have been able to get a POE (power-over-ethernet) model. Glad to have some coverage on the map where I live!

Nice To Know The Actual AQI

We live in an area where the EPAs AirNow sensor covers a huge area, one separated by a lot of topography, including a significant mountain range. I have asthma and live in an area where wildfires and inversions frequently make the air quality poor enough for me to avoid either 1) going out in it without an N95 mask, or 2) letting unnecessary quantities into the house. We purchased the PurpleAir Classic so we would now exactly what the AQI is throughout the day in our location.
